Il Gusto Restaurant Lisburn Road

Looking for Italian with a local twist? This is a lovely little restaurant located on the Lisburn Road.

Cosy and intimate the surroundings are modern and romantic. There is an outside seating area too if the weather is good. The restaurant itself is quite small so not great for big groups.

The staff are very friendly although they could do with another member of staff or two as it was quite busy when we visited. Crayons and colouring pages were provided for the kids and the staff were very welcoming.

Now for my favourite part talking about food yum!! The menu was very good with a good mix of pizzas, chicken, pasta, fish and meat dishes. There were traditional Italian items as well as items with a more international twist. The children’s menu was typical of any restaurant but did have a few Italian options- it was very reasonably priced.

What we tasted:

Quattro Stagioni Pizza – Ham, Mushroom, Pepperoni, Pepper, Mozzarella and Tomato. Nice rustic pizza base and plenty of toppings, it was good but not the best pizza I have sampled! Could have done with a little more flavour.

Pollo Milano – Chicken and Parma Ham served with Mashed Potatoes and Peppercorn Sauce – wonderful flavours and well presented however wasn’t very ‘Italian’ although very enjoyable.

Kids Pepperoni Pizza – Good portion size and reasonably priced.

Chocolate Fudge Cake – Looked delicious but a bit on the bland side plenty of chocolate sauce though!

Selection of ice cream – Would have liked to have had Italian ice-cream but it’s good that they are supporting local producers. The portion was massive and loved that it was served in a wine glass.

Overall a decent meal, with a good selection and reasonable prices.
