Il Gusto Lisburn Road Restaurant Review: 3 Amazing Features

Il Gusto Restaurant Lisburn Road
Looking for Italian food with a local twist? Il Gusto is a lovely little restaurant located on the Lisburn Road.
We were quite lucky that day when we stumbled by this nice little ristorante on the Lisburn Road so we decided to give it a try. Upon entry, once cannot but feel relaxed by the cosy and intimate atmosphere. The surroundings in Il Gusto were modern and romantic and the golden lightning made it feel even more luxurious. There was an outside seating area too which sure provides extra earned pleasure if the weather is good. The restaurant itself is quite small so not great for big groups.
The staff are very friendly and pretty welcoming. However, it would have been much better if there were another member of staff or two as it was quite busy when we visited. And since kids are, in general, not into eating as much as they are into anything else, the restaurant provided crayons and colouring pages for them to enjoy their time as much as adults did.
Now for my most favourite part, talking about food, yum!! Il Gusto offers quite a fantastic menu with a good mix of popular Italian dishes including pizzas, chicken, pasta, fish, and meat dishes. There were traditional Italian items as well as items with a more international twist. The children’s menu was typical of any restaurant but did have a few Italian options- it was very reasonably priced.
What we tasted
Quattro Stagioni Pizza – Ham, Mushroom, Pepperoni, Pepper, Mozzarella and Tomato. Nice rustic pizza base and plenty of toppings. It was good but not the best pizza I have sampled! It could have done with a little more flavour.
Pollo Milano – Chicken and Parma Ham served with Mashed Potatoes and Peppercorn Sauce – wonderful flavours and well-presented too. However, it was not very ‘Italian’ but sure was very enjoyable.
Kids Pepperoni Pizza – Good portion size and reasonably priced.
Desserts
Chocolate Fudge Cake – Looked delicious but a bit on the bland side plenty of chocolate sauce though!
Selection of ice cream – I would have liked to have had Italian ice-cream but it is good that they are supporting local producers. The portion was so massive that it was served in a red-wine glass. Loved it!
Overall a decent meal, with a good selection, and reasonable prices. Il Gusto was definitely a worthy choice.
