Travelling has become more and more accessible over the past few years. With the internet, finding interesting destinations for vacation becomes much easier. Here are the top 10 vacation destinations in the world. 

Abruzzo, Italy

Everyone has heard of these world-famous landmarks like the coliseum in Rome, or even the incredible canals of Venice or even the breathtaking village of Positano on the Amalfi Coast. However, there is another place in Italy, almost frozen in time, entrenched in their traditions where many travellers have never ventured off or discovered. Abruzzo is a place where you can take in some of the most beautiful mountainous landscapes. It is just 2 hours from Rome. Abruzzo features ancient castles off the edge of a cliff, landscapes, national parks and nature reserves. It is the greenest region in Europe. It is also known for its seaside, on the Trabocchi Coast, stretching along the stunning Adriatic Sea from Pescara to Vasto. Trabocchi were traditionally stilted fishing huts, but many have found new life as restaurants serving the freshest seafood imaginable. 

How to get to Abruzzo? You can fly to the airport based in the lively seaside city of Pescara. Then, you can simply go by car, train or bus from Rome, Ancona or Naples. It is not recommended to move around the city by public transportation as they only move between main cities. You can use the Cicero app to manage your transport. You can also rent a car from trusted companies. There is an option also to hire a private driver if you are not into public transportation.

In the church of Madonna Delle Grazie, you can know about the patron San Domenico. He is the Saint of Cocullo and the protector of animal bites of any kind, dogs, wolves, snakes and many more. There is no definite historical information for sure in the past centuries there was a custom connected to the Pre-Roman god where the serpents came to honour this Saint. There is also a festival in honour of Saint Domenico that dates back to the Pre-Roman time. On the 1st of May, the town swells from about 300 people to 30000.
