Gillies Bar and Grill Ballymena – Galgorm

From the moment you walk in the door of Gillies Bar and Grill at Galgorm Resort and Spa, you can tell that it is going to be a very good experience. The recently refurbished restaurant and bar are warm and inviting, with a gorgeous roaring fire lit to welcome you in from the cold.

The Ambiance at Gillies Bar and Grill

Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting ambience. The recent refurbishment has elevated the space, blending modernity with a classic touch. The roaring fire was a welcome sight, creating a cosy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The décor, combining elegance with comfort, caters to a diverse clientele. Whether seated in a snug booth or at a table overlooking the stables, the setting is perfect for any occasion.

Excellent Service

The staff at Gillies are a standout feature. They were attentive, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu. Their willingness to accommodate special requests and cater to various dietary needs was impressive. Their professionalism adds significant value to the overall dining experience.

The Culinary Journey

The menu at Gillies Bar and Grill is a celebration of flavours. From classic dishes to innovative Asian-style creations, there is something to tantalize every palate. I was particularly impressed by their commitment to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Starters

Bang Bang Chicken – delicious crispy chicken, a good portion with a lovely selection of crispy vegetables. (This can also be ordered as a main course)

Salt ‘n’ Chilli Chicken – wonderful flavour served with a mini Asian salad. A little spicier than the Ban Bang chicken (medium)

Main Course

Homemade Beef Burger – really well presented with onion rings, bacon and cheese. Succulent burger, cooked to perfection and served with a side of your choice. We chose chunky chips, and they were great.

BBQ Ribs – cooked beautifully, could nearly be eaten with a knife and fork they were so tender and falling from the bone. A good-sized portion (couldn’t finish it) served with BBQ sauce and corn on the cob. Would not hesitate to order again.

Desserts

The Sticky Toffee Pudding is a dessert not to be missed. Paired with creamy honeycomb ice cream, it’s a delightful end to the meal.

The Bar Experience

The bar at Gillies is a focal point, offering a wide array of wines, beers, and spirits. The bartenders are true mixologists, crafting delicious and innovative cocktails.

Entertainment and Special Offers
