Ballina Salmon festival

It originated from the town’s deep connection to salmon fishing, as Ballina is situated on the banks of the River Moy, renowned for its salmon runs.

The festival typically includes live music performances, street entertainment, arts and crafts exhibitions, historical and cultural tours, sports competitions, parades, fireworks displays, and a variety of family-friendly activities. A highlight of the day is the Salmon Parade, where locals and visitors gather to witness a colourful procession of floats and bands.

Lough Carra

Lough Carra is situated in the western part of County Mayo, near the town of Ballinrobe. It covers an area of approximately 4,000 acres making it one of the largest lakes in the region.

Lough Carra is renowned for its natural beauty and tranquil surroundings. The lake is surrounded by rolling hills, picturesque woodlands, and lush vegetation, creating a serene and scenic environment. It is a popular spot for nature enthusiasts, anglers, and photographers.
