Ibiza is located in the Spanish archipelago, famous for parties and summer activities, making it one of Spain’s popular islands. It is known for its natural beauty, sandy beaches, and old city, and it is often called La Isla Blanca (The White Island).

Ibiza became an important commercial centre along the Mediterranean in early 1235. The Catholic Church managed many of the affairs of Ibiza Island in the 18th and 19th centuries, building churches and restoring island life.
In the 1930s, tourism in Ibiza began to recover, improving the economic situation and starting an artistic movement. By 1950, Ibiza had become a popular tourist destination due to the development of many tourist facilities.

The island’s weather is magnificent all the year, warm in winter and hot in the summer. The temperature in winter reaches about 15 degrees Celsius. In summer, the temperature reaches 30 degrees Celsius.

Ibiza Cathedral

It is considered the first religious building constructed on the island in the 14th century. The Cathedral is in the old city on the hill and contains many ancient religious artefacts.
You can enjoy the magnificent city and port views when you visit the observation point in the Cathedral. Also, near the Cathedral, you will find many restaurants and a tourist information office.

Ibiza Old Town

Ibiza’s old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with narrow streets and whitewashed walls. You will also find Dalt Vila, which offers a fantastic harbour view. Dalt Vila was built by Charles V in the 16th century and is considered the highest and oldest part of Ibiza Town. The Old Town was built to defend Ibiza from the attacks of the Berber pirates and invasion by sovereign forces like the French.

You will love touring the fortifications to learn more about the seven bastions, each with a story. The Santa Lucía bastion has a stunning view of the old fishing district and the harbour.
Other historical sites and museums are in the Old Town, including the Castell D’Eivissa fortress, which offers lovely ocean views and the famous Ibiza Cathedral.

Es Vedra 

Es Vedra is a rock formation near Cala d’Hort off Ibiza’s southwestern coast. It is associated with many mysteries, fairy tales, and legends and hangs over neighbouring inhabitants.

It is located 404 metres above sea level. It is well-known as one of the most important natural sites on the island, with beautiful coastal views and insight into its geological history.

Puig de Missa Church

The church is located on the top of a hill in the town of Santa Eulalia del Rio, with a magnificent sea view. It is famous for its white walls and its unique architecture. It is also located near a museum and water mill, but be careful as the area is steep, so expect a decent workout to reach the top.

ES Savinar Tower

ES Savinar Tower was built by Juan Balester in 1756 and completed in 1763. It is considered the highest on the island, and when you reach the top, you can see the Spanish mainland on a clear day.

The tower is private property, and visits are only allowed at certain times of the year. It is locally known as Pirates Tower, thanks to its appearance in Blasco Ibanez’s novel Los Muertos Madan.

Aquarium Cap Blanc

The Aquarium Cap Blanc was a natural lobster cave, and it now offers educational and interactive experiences for all ages.

When you visit the aquarium, you will find many of the colourful species that inhabit the waters surrounding the island of Ibiza, including octopus, a collection of shark eggs, sea sponges, and much more.

San Antonio

San Antonio is on the island’s west coast and is considered Ibiza’s second-largest town. It is the best choice for visiting beautiful beaches and nightclubs.

During the daytime, go to the bay to enjoy the sandy beaches and don’t miss the Columbus egg monument.

You can go to Cafe del Mar and watch the sunset or enjoy going to nightclubs spread around the town at night.

Hippy Market Punta Arabi 

The market occurs every Wednesday, with over 500 stalls selling everything from clothing to handmade jewellery and locally made organic skincare. 

It is a great way to experience the local culture in Ibiza and enjoy the live music, homemade paella, henna tattoo stalls, and even professional massages.
